For National Granola Bar Day, I want to share with you a creation that I came up with for a post workout snack. I call this Honey Peanut Butter Banana Crunch Pita. The picture shows the ingredients that are needed:
1) 1/2 of a Joseph's Flax Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Lavash Bread (or 1 of the smaller round ones)
2) 1 tbsp. honey peanut butter (once you try this, you will never go back to regular peanut butter - it is addicting)
3) 1/2 of a small banana, thinly sliced
4) 1/2 of a single Nature Valley Oats 'n Honey granola bar, crushed (this is where the crunch comes in)
Spread the peanut butter on the pita, top with sliced bananas, and top with the crushed granola bar. I like to heat mine in the microwave for about 20 seconds, slice in half and enjoy. It contains fiber in the pita, protein in the peanut butter, potassium in the banana, and crunch in the granola. The perfect post workout snack at only 250 calories!!
