Today is National Shortbread Day. I chose to make a shortbread cookie recipe from Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa. Instead of making individual cookies, I decided to bake it in a tart pan. After baking and cooling the shortbread, I melted some caramels and poured over the top. Then drizzled some melted milk chocolate chips over the top. My creation: Chocolate Caramel Shortbread Tart! The shortbread was light and crumbly, paired with the sweet, gooey caramel - it was divine!
